Prince Philip lives up to his reputation.
EDIT: I note in the comments thread below the snippet of 'news', Godwin's Law is proved true on only the 9th comment. |

That at some point in an internet discussion, someone will bring the Nazis into it.
Doesn't apply at the Palimp, natch. |

"Lightning bolt kills TV giraffe", blurts my Latest Headlines feed. I dunno, it just seems to lack class somehow. At least it was accurate though. I read the one labelled "UK lives saved by waterboarding" anticipating something about semi-extreme sports, but no, it turns out to be a defense of torture. As for "Hooker Hartley gets England call", forget about it. Not what I imagined At All.
On an entirely unrelated note, how about this story for presenting an unexpected example of Attention Deficit Disorder in progress. There is a true reporter for the Twitter generation. |

Let me stop this hotbed of discussion hard in its tracks by refering to this:
Non-Existant Monkeys Better At Recreating Shakespeare Than Real Ones, Oddly I particularly liked the rather dry captions to the photos. |

One of the books I just read contemplated how sad it must be to be the monkey who gets everything right but with a typo in the title: King Lera. That would be so very embarrassing. So close!

Breaking News from the American Homefront:
Sarah Palin has announced that she will not run for president in 2012! To me, and to many who care about the future, this is great news. Not only do we no longer have to worry that she could actually take over the Whitehouse - which, by the bye, was a real possibility - but we now don't even have to worry that she will be anything more than what she ever was - a cheer-leader - for her cause. This does not mean that she will go away forever; but only that she has four more years, at least, to figure out what her cause is, before she imposes it - with a wiggle - on the rest of us, and the world. We just dodged a bullet! (Just for the record: I am not a "h8r", but only a concerned citizen, who thinks we need an answer, not a slogan.) For my foreign friends who may not know of Sarah Palin; think Margaret Thatcher without the honest conviction, the vision, the foresight, or the integrity. Then add a rockin'-hot body and a pretty smile. Think "cheerleader": no, think "head cheer-leader"!
