Sorry to cross post with my Blog but, as more people are going to read this than ever will that*, I thought I would share it with a wider audience.

I think THIS MP3 is funny. No, wait, I'll go better than that I'll say it is very funny. It has to be the funniest thing I have heard in ages. I literally cried with laughter when I heard it.

You don't need (though it helps) to know it comes from an LP called The Two Pete's - Live At The Ever New Montague Arms recorded in 1981. The Two Pete's [sic] comprised "a blind keyboard player with more synths than Rick Wakeman and a drummer with a kit matched in scale only by his beard." This is their assault on 1970's standard Macarthur Park seguing into the ever brilliant Popcorn for a bit. I love both bits of music. They are both pieces of near indestructible kitsch; no matter what you do to them they come out the other side just as perky and clean as when they went in. These guys bash the hell out of them... and just when the tune is gasping for air, go in for a second go.

* (ugly sentence of the week award nominee)

It's fantastic. An extraordinary example of great talent meeting total lack of sense.

I particularly like this review of the album, which is a sensational piece of writing... possibly the same one you found:

Quote:
Of particular note is the genuine technical skill of the keyboard player, however misguided the end results. He would play Moog bass pedals with his feet, simultaneously switching from keyboard to keyboard while singing. Tricky to do sighted, let alone blind. The drummer is also worthy of mention for his hyperactive snare technique. He is of the 'if it's not moving hit it' school of drumming. Respect.

...What, you've never seen the video to Michael Jackson's Thriller re-enacted by hundreds of prison inmates before?

Luckily , you can fill the void in your life here.

Uh oh. It's friday afternoon and I seem to have fallen into a YouTube-surfing rut. Not to worry - I've struck gold!

Possibly the best DJ video I've ever seen.

Puppetry, it seems, is not dead. Check out the others, too - I like the accordian and robot videos particularly. The official website is all in Flash, so you may as well just navigate within Youtube for the videos.

Roll over in the night and asphyxiate. Just the thing for your mother-in-law.

Well, it's not 'homemade' so much as made by The Onion. Last week's, I think.

...But you're dang right - that one had me hooting!
