Default I Don't Know What to Read...

In about two weeks, it will be December, which means that in two weeks I will begin reading David Copperfield. Before that happens, I need something else to fill my reading time, and I don't know what book or books I should choose. I suppose it would be helpful to anyone wishing to offer advice to offer up a list of options, but I don't really have any. So I think you should all just guess what I have in my library, and go from there. Thanks!

What about Great Expectations? Or Persuasion?

Or, restricting myself to books I know you do have, what about one of the following
  • Bret Easton Ellis, Lunar Park
  • John Updike, The Witches of Eastwick
  • Richard Adams, The Girl in a Swing
  • Richard Yates, The Easter Parade
  • Philip Roth, I Married a Communist
  • Vikram Chandra, Sacred Games (only kidding)

I've read Great Expectations, but have never read any Jane Austen, so that's an idea...

I'm saving the Roth for next year, when I plan to alternate between books by him, Patricia Highsmith, and Georges Simenon until I get to a point where I don't feel bad for having read so little of their work.

The Updike's not a bad idea, though.

Christopher Moore -The lamb,is a very good alternative story of the life of Christ, and specialy interesting for it explain is childhood and all the years before he became famous.Told by Biff his best friend.
The terror by Dan Simmons is very good, but maybe you have enough of horror stories.
Water music by T C Boyle is excellent. It's one i alway's try to push one friends, with not enough success. But we they do i rarely have to refound.

It's not the genre that currently turns me off about The Terror, but rather its length. However, a friend of mine has told me very good things about Water Music...

I suggest The Easter Parade, it's not too long, so you may get another in before DC.
