Default Weird happenings...

I have to create a thread for this as it was too weird!

Last night on coming up to bed, we found a baby's sock lying right in the middle of the bed. Just one sock, pale blue, from Baby Gap, aged 0-6 months.

Since we don't know anyone with a baby, haven't had one ourselves in the last eight years (I did check around to make sure!), and have never owned a sock from Baby Gap, we are totally confuzzled. Pixie or house-elf?

Any weird stuff you want to report (or solve my sock manifestation)?

(And we have thoroughly grilled the children - none of whom have access to a Baby Gap sock either.)

Can't offer any explanation for your sock mansifestation Col, but here's one of my own spooky happenings:

I lost my silver ring about four months ago in the flat I was living in at the time and searched everywhere for it. I thought it had slipped off my finger while I was making the bed so emptied out the duvet etc etc.

When we moved house I had another good look while we were packing etc.

Two weeks ago (we have been in the new house for 2 months) I found the ring in the middle of the hall floor.

Again, I think the house elf had something to do with it.

Will it sound really unhygenic if I say no?

It was like Hekaterine's ring: neatly made bed, smooth, clean(ish) plain blue duvet and in the middle, like an offering, a single baby sock.

(For finding lost things, I can't out-weird your ring, Hekaterine, but I did find a lost contact lens in the garden three months after it had flipped out of my eye whilst weeding.)

Three months - that's pretty good.

My mother once accidentally dug up my dead tortoise which we had interred the previous winter... only to discover it wasn't dead

You haven't got a cat, have you? I can't see guinea pigs getting up to this sort of prank.
