Having just watched the first half hour of "Xanadu" I'm surprised it didn't feature in the top ten.

Nicholson, mind you, was utterly brilliant in As Good as it Gets and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I think it was the Shining that got him typecast. I wasn't wild about 5 Easy Pieces, and I hated About Schmidt. The Witches of Eastwick was suitably insane, mind you.

I agree with Amner that The Alien Factor is pretty damn awful but... wait for it... it's actually better than the only other film I have seen by the same director: the incredibly dreadful The Galaxy Invader. I would rather eat other people's earwax than watch that one again.

The ten films on the list would, I suspect, look like masterpieces compared to some of the drek that's been made over the years. I've only seen two of them (the top two, and I too laughed at "Holey Rusted Metal!" line) but I'll bet they are all in focus for most of the time, have decent continuity, synch sound and characters that don't suddenly swap sides of the screen between shots because the director couldn't direct traffic up a one way street.

I don't know who reads Empire but they obviously don't watch that many movies. How can any list of the top ten worst films of 'all time' not have a single John Carradine movie in it? Inconceivable!

And I won't have a bad thing said about Anthony Hopkins; he was in Freejack and had a career afterwards. Now that takes balls.

Epic Movie wouldn't.
