Default 2009 Impac Longlist

It's not called a longlist for nothing. 147 books! So Mr. Self, can we expect the reviews to begin shortly?

Heh. It's not really a longlist at all, is it, despite what they say? My understanding is that this is the list of all the eligible books nominated for the prize (which have to come from libraries in capital or major cities, maximum three titles per library).

My goodness, I've actually read six from that list. Surely the release dates must span more than a single year.

I'm laughing out loud. Unless of course you're serious, in which case I'm crying.

I thought the same when I looked at the list... On Chesil Beach seems so long ago, for instance! But the rules are January to December publication in 2007 for this prize (2009) if I understand it correctly.
