I expect the answer to 1 is yes, Beth. The answer to 2 should also be yes, as we will have Captcha codes (those psychedelic letters and numbers in boxes) for new members to enter, which should prevent spambots with many qs and zs in their names from joining.

The new vBulletin has some AKISMET (anti-spam) connection. Not sure what it is/does as I haven't looked into it. There are four anti-spam measures, however, when logging on, all with varying levels of difficulty.

None, sadly. Been up to my eyeballs in paid work for the last few months and haven't had the chance to sort out the big issues which is the transfer of the database. I'm loathe to do the software upgrade until I have made some proper backups too, hence the delays.
