Eminem or Kanye West?
Tripped immediately. I'll go for Eminem because of that "the music the moment" instant, had real urgency did that.

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne?
Seasick, I guess. He's fairly funny when interviewed.

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons?
Lordy. Neither.

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa?
Probably La Gioconda...

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I?
the Holbein

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet?
oh, the Chessmen, easily, because of Noggin the Nog

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc?
a Sauv

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec?
Malbec, happily. Mmm.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale?
Porter.

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach?
Woods, every frikkin' time.

Birdwatching or badger watching?
Birds. Obviously!

Dawn or dusk?
"You have looked in wonder at your last dawn, Blackadder!" Dawn, always dawn.

Eminem or Kanye West?
Really not my genre at all! I've enjoyed a few of Eminem's ditties in the past though ("Stan" and "Lose Yourself" spring to mind).

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne?
Neither.

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons?
Fleet Foxes by a long long way. "Sigh No More" is one of the few occasions where I've agreed with a Pitchfork review (they gave it 2.1 out of 10).

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa?
Venus de Milo. She seems like a nice 'armless girl.

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I?
Henry VIII.

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet?
The chessmen.

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc?
Don't like white wine, but I detest chardonnay, so sauv blanc it is.

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec?
Both! Oh go on then, the pinot noir.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale?
Kind of you to ask, but no thanks.

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach?
Woods.

Birdwatching or badger watching?
I don't really have the patience for either. Birdwatching.

Dawn or dusk?
Dusk.

Eminem or Kanye West?
Yawn... Neither

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne?
Ray Lamontagne, narrowly

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons?
Fleet Foxes though both sound a little twee for my taste

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa?
Venus de Milo. 3D rules

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I?
Holbein

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet?
The Lewis Chessmen. Surreal...

Oaky chardonnay or clean crisp Sauv Blanc?
A beer please

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec?
Another beer please unless I have a nice steak in front of me, then the full bodied.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale?
The ale

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach?
The woods, preferably in the spring or autumn, and wet.

Birdwatching or badger watching?
Birds, all my waking hours

Dawn or dusk?
Definitely dawn

Heathens, both of you. A properly oaked chardonnay is a thing of beauty.

And I knew the Holbein would win it by a landslide. No contest really, is there?

Eminem or Kanye West?

Eminem, because Lose Yourself, Stan, Eight Mile, Real Slim Shady, Toy Soldiers, We Made You and certainly a few more. Whereas I can't name a single Kanye West song.

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne?
Seasick Steve, as I don't know the other guy.

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons?
Don't know the first, and not over-impressed with the second, but I guess the Sons will have to do.

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa?
Mona Lisa, although she is annoying

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I?
Henry, so I can think what an awful king he was. The painting is superior too.

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet?
The Chessmen because you can imagine them coming alive and having little blistering Northern sarcastic conversations with each other. Well, I can...

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc?
Chardonnay every time

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec?
Malbec.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale?
Ale. Too much force-feeding of malt extract in my extreme youth and waiting for buses by the Bass breweries near Pond Street in Sheffield, makes me feel ill at maltiness (apart from Shreddies! )

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach?
Nothing can beat the woods, ever.

Birdwatching or badger watching?
Birds. So long as I am warm and dry, with a flask of hot coffee at hand.

Dawn or dusk?
Dusk, probably. The lighting of lamps, the drawing of curtains and lighting of fires, the whole nostalgia of the day's work being done and reflected upon. It goes with my prefering autumn to spring, too, I suspect.

Eminem or Kanye West? Eminem for his lyrics and verbal dexterity. Kanye West for his tunes and all-round entertainment value.

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne? I can't recall any of SS's songs. I'm that out of touch. Lamontagne by default.

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons? Tie. Both are pleasant. Not passionate about either.

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa? Since reading E.H. Gombrich write about her, I'll plump for the enigmatic Mona Lisa.

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I? Holbein.

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet? Sutton Hoo helmet. I'm quite into the old English period at the moment.

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc? Sauv Blanc.

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec? Pinot Noir. I have to admit my taste in wine has been influenced by the film Sideways.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale? I have a wheat allergy that means I can't drink any beer without suffering from terrible gas.

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach? Woods! I hate sand.

Birdwatching or badger watching? Badger-baiting.

Dawn or dusk? Long dusk.

Eminem or Kanye West? Neither. Waste of space.

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne? Who?

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons? What?

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa? Venus

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I? I'm bored with the Holbein, so van Dyck gets my vote

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet? Helmet. It's more authentic, somehow

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc? not all that keen on white wine. I suppose the chardonnay wins, though.

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec? the Malbec, if I must choose

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale? porter

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach? the beach

Birdwatching or badger watching? badgers

Dawn or dusk? dawn

Eminem or Kanye West? Eminem, though I don't want to like him as much as I do

Seasick Steve or Ray Lamontagne? Ray Lamontagne because I don't know Seasick Steve

Fleet Foxes or Mumford & Sons? I like both quite a bit, but, make me choose, Mumford & Sons

The Venus de Milo or the Mona Lisa? Venus de Milo

Holbein's Henry VIII or Van Dyck's Charles I? van Dyck by a hair

The Lewis Chessmen or the Sutton Hoo helmet? Chessmen

An oaky chardonnay or a clean crisp Sauv Blanc? I don't drink, but something oaky sounds interesting.

A subtle pinot noir or a full-bodied Malbec? Hmmm, didn't the guy from Sideways love pinot? He seemed to know what he was talking about, so I'll use his choice.

A dark malty porter or a golden hoppy ale? Which one tastes more like the Apple Brew I get? I'll spring for that one.

A walk in the woods or a walk on the beach? the woods any day, even if I'm staying on the beach

Birdwatching or badger watching? birds, and J.A. Baker's The Peregrine only solidifies this for me

Dawn or dusk? dusk (looking forward to it right now, in fact)
