Default Signatures

The new vBulletin upgrade enables you to have a picture in your signature. Unfortunately we only discovered this when aquablue uploaded a picture to his. And here at Palimpsest we believe in keeping avatars small and signatures clean and uncluttered, so I'm afraid we've had to remove your picture from your sig, aquablue. Sorry!

So in short: no pics in sigs, folks!

You've always been able to have images in signatures with vBulletin as the IMG BB tags are little different from B or I or URL. There's an option to disable this though.

vBulletin Options -> User Profile Options -> Allow Images In Signatures: Yes/No

Thanks Blixa. Hm, no option for that in our admin panel, but we do have "Allow [IMG] code in non-forum specific areas" which I've changed to No.

Do you need a certain amount of posts before your signature appears? I've added one but do not see it.

Nevermind, there it is...

How do you restrospectively apply signatures? For example, if what you're currently reading is in your sig, how do you update it for all posts?

I don't think you can, Adr. All posts which you made before you had a sig will remain sig-free, but all posts which you've made since will all contain your current sig, irrespective of when you posted them or what your sig was at that time. If that makes sense.

aquablue, as you'll have noticed I have removed your signature. It was way too big and, if you care to look around the site, completely out of step with what everyone else manages to use.

Please re-think.

Just for clarification, everyone, here's an example of what would not be acceptable as a signature:

But you probably knew that already!
