Default Pub Quiz Relay

Here's a little compo to settle us into the new week. We start off with a general knowledge question set by me, then the person who answers it first then poses the next question, and so on.

So, Who designed the logo for Chupa Chups lollies?

An encyclopaedia. But I had to Google for that. Personally, without wanting seem hypocritical, these things work best without Googling.

How many Roman consuls were elected, and for what period of time in the Republic?

Yes, I changed my question because the bet has already been settled. Kip Thorne won, and instead of the lifetime subscription to Playboy that he originally wagered for, he settled for two copies of Playboy.
