If anyone feels like learning a language just for the hell of it. I'd definitely recommend Norwegian. Where else can you find a sentence like

'Jeg likke ikke fiskeboller'
(Yeh, lik-ka ik-ka fiskabolla only with a melodic up and down tone that's almost like singing Welsh!)

Another snippet of my father came to light the other day. I remarked in message 1 that he eventually became deputy director of education in Brunei. That was in 1962, around the time of the Limbang Raid, in which I myself was indirectly involved. However, my father first met the Sultan of Brunei in 1955, as this photo testifies, when he was headmaster of a school in Malaya, and the baby-faced youth is me at 14.
