I tried googling for the answer.

Not much help.

Hah! I'm actually quite pleased with that result.

EDIT: Sorry Leyla, and before anyone pipes up and drags us further into hell, there are no buffalo's here...

I may well chose to have this inscribed on my grave (and the answer written on a tiny scroll, rolled up and put in my mouth. Might work.)

RE-EDIT: Sorry BeccaK, I can half see the logic, but no shiny prize.

Well, if it's a quiz question, it has to be a question or a command. So my guess is that the command is '(will you) doctor (the word) doctor'. ie, make an alteration of some kind/tamper with/adapt (doctor) the word 'doctor'.

So basically, any change to the word doctor would be doctoring 'doctor'.
So my answer is to change two letters to make another word:
docker.

But since Nou says it's an impossible puzzle, maybe the answer is that you can't doctor 'doctor' to make another word by just changing one letter, you have to change two.

I don't think this is the correct answer as it's humour-free.

Okay, I think I've been misleading, so anyone who wishes can look under the black box for an alternative first line:

What are these, and how can they not be what they are?

Hmm, still no idea. What are they? They're capital doctors. How could they not be what they are? If they're crap doctors? Sorry, lame, I know.
