Hm. Well, I wouldn't want everything to be like Kill Bill, God knows, but that statement does give me pause.

Anyway, I wasn't going after Bradshaw, because I don't know what his actual objections are, and I don't even know if I'll like the film or not. I didn't like Death Proof, after all.

I've been trying to place the guy in the pic with Pitt. It's Eli Roth, the guy who directed - oh dear - Hostel.

Must. Keep. Open. Mind...

I overstated, bill. I haven't read bad reviews in the sense that they outright pan IB, but rather reviews which have some negative things to say amongst the thumbs up.

I'm of your position as I'm a long-standing Tarantino fan. Other than Death Proof (which wasn't utter crap but just a little too silly for my liking) and True Romance I think his contribution to cinema over the years has been spot on.

Austria's Christoph Waltz has won the best actor award at the Cannes Film Festival for Inglourious Basterds.

You probably know this by now, but I'm going to say it anyway. Tarantino stole the name from an old war film but changed the spelling so no-one would think it's a remake.

Isn't it just being touted as Inglourious now? I've seen a few trailers and the Basterds seems to have been dropped.

I saw a trailer on TV where it was 'titled' Inglorious with eight rough shapes below representing the letters in Basterds. Presumably even though it's technically not a swear word, Basterds is nonetheless beyond the pale for TV or public advertising.

I'd assumed it was a pre/post watershed thing, but was proved wrong at about 10.30 the other night. How patronising.
