Default 'Bad Singing Scenes' - can you make this list up to ten?

Bad singing in the movies, don't you just love it? Or is it only me.

1. Michael Caine sings "It's Over" in Little Voice
2. Cameron DIaz sings "I Just Don't Know What to do With Myself" in
My Best Friends Wedding
3. Meryl Streep / Jack Nicholson duet a medley of show tunes in Heartburn.
4. Eddie Murphy sings "To Be Loved" in Coming to America.

Can't think of any more at the moment.

Anyone out there want to add any more?

There's the chap in Scream (Jerry O'Donnell???) singing I think I love you to Neve Campbell in the school cafeteria. Which reminds me - aaarggh - of Tom Cruise singing Unchained Melody in Top Gun.

How could I forget "Top Gun" (only by trying very, very hard). Well that's two more - not I must say highlights of my movie watching career, but only four more needed.

Anyone out there actually seen "Everyone says I love you", I hear it's chock full of bad singing.

Well, actually I wouldn't include this as 'bad singing' and you may or may not at your discretion, but all I could think of was 'Just the Way You Look Tonight' ensemble version in 'Peter's Friends'. There's another one I know definitely for your list but I just can't remember it.

Oddly I don't recall that scene, and I'm sure I've seen "Peter's Friends" (Ken Branagh/Stephen Fry ensemble isn't it?).

Just for the record, I'm not kidding about loving the scenes I've listed - there's something very human and vulerable about singing at times of joy or sorrow which is captured in these moments - especially Cameron Diaz's 'rabbit in the headlights' turn in "My Best Friends Wedding", probaly the point at which most of the audience switches alliegance fom Julia Roberts to her. Inspirational stuff!

Three more please.

Does the round-the-pool-table scene in The Deerhunter work, where they're belting out Andy Williams?

Yes it does.

And - I can't believe I forgot this one- Richard Dreyfus singing "Cole's Song" in Mr Hollands Opus - it's a good thing his audience were deaf is all I can say! (though I almost cried)

That's nine - one more any body?

Bridget Jones' embarrassing karaoke at the work Christmas party. Can anyone remember what song she was singing?

Wrong song! She mimes that one on her sofa. I'll have to check and get back to you. As if you care.
