Default Unpretty (Sharon Carter Rogers) / When the Devil Whistles (Rick Acker)

Great use of the same photo to make two covers:

Cool The Columbo Collection (2010) & TV Guide (Aug 14-20, 1976)

Al Hirschfeld's caricature of Columbo, first used on the cover of TV Guide (August 14-20, 1976), and in 2010 on William Link's The Columbo Collection, which features twelve new short stories about Lieutenant Columbo.

Relevant video: don't all urban fantasy covers look kind of similar?

There are both cops and guns in The Friends of Eddie Coyle, but I still find that cover to be a very poor indication of the books contents. The Bloomsday Dead I don't know about, other than the fact that it centers around Bloomsday, so maybe something could have been done with that, who knows.

Also, I don't know what "Rings as true as a police siren" means.

A book cover fashion I've noticed lately (well, calling it a fashion might be stretching it seeing as I could only think of two examples, and with a bit of work find a further pair, but still) is the Submerged Woman (Often In A Dress) Viewed From Above.
The cover for "The Beginners" is particularly nice.

Default Havana Fever (Padura) / The Blue Door (Fulmer)

Set 14 years after Padura's Havana Quartet, the 2009 English translation of the fifth Mario Conde novel, Havana Fever, uses the picture of the singer seen on the cover of Fulmer's 2007 hardback The Blue Door.
