Whenever I see the words "head" and "cheerleader", I'm usually on a different website. This one.

Sorry.

Don't be sorry. The same kind of thought crossed my mind when I wrote it. Ha!

Thank Christ for that. If Palin had run for President I'd decided I was going to join the Taliban.

I'm sure we're all over the moon now the English language has been enriched with the word 'fatberg':

It will turn up on DVD in Poundlands across the nation soon enough.

Yup. Had one of those in a North Berwick fish and chip shop once. It was awful.

I would just like to thank Mr David Bowie for finally making my mind up anent the Scottish Independence Vote which takes place in September.

I like Bowie. I like his music. Always have. I like his arty otherness persona and his occasional forays into (and hasty retreats from) acting. But when he sticks his nose into politics I march firmly in the opposite direction. The other day the 67 year old Ex-pat collected an award for having sold a lot of records and not dying - or rather he got Kate Moss (famous for being skinny and shoving coke up her nose by the shovelful) to collect it for him because, for whatever reason, he couldn't (be bothered?) to make it to the awards himself.

She finished his acceptance speech with the words: "Scotland, stay with us."

This caused Mr David Cameron (a Prime Minister) to say: "I was watching the Brit Awards* and when I saw Kate Moss leap to the stage and utter those words I have to say I did let out a little cry of joy,"

and

"I'm sure that maybe someone like David Bowie might be able to reach parts of Scotland that perhaps I can't."

Yeah... Right... Get down wiv da Yoof, mister Cameron. The neds are really going to take to heart a sound-bite from a pension-age multimillionaire who doesn't even live in the country, delivered by another multi-millionaire whose sole talent (as far as I can see) is looking skinny and being symmetrical. Speaking to da people innit?

So. I think I'm well bedded down into the Yes/Aye camp. Not because I understand any of the political/economic arguments but on a purely gut reaction against the fact that rich people who don't live here don't want us to.

That and the fact that UKIP beat the Tories to third place in a by-election the other week. I loath the Tories but the thought that in a few years I might be living in a country led by the likes of Nigel (we're not racists, honest!) Farage gives me the screaming abdabs.

Living next door would be bad enough.

*presumably after some flunky had emailed him a link to the Youtube video he had just posted up.
