I don't think so Kim. No personal insults goes without saying and as everyone should know, will be dealt with by admin.

Those dense black italic letters make it seem such an ominous, onerous activity! Hope everyone is standing by their beds with boots so shiny you could eat off 'em! Or, god help you, you may get severely ..... Moderated!

Weylon Smithers is then the bearer of Big Brother's eyes, JS -- towering up, an invincible, fearless protector.

Good thing no one ever wrote anything inflamatory here, isn't it? It's just malreporting to suggest otherwise

*giggling* Thanks for keeping the peace, I mean, JS.

I'd like to thank John publicly for giving up his lunch hour to sort out the problems today.

Hopefully Note 7, just added, will help clarify matters.

Listen up everyone! I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone of the following guidelines posted above.
Quote:
5. Continuing Discussions that Admin have asked to Stop

If a thread is going off on a wild tangent it might be the case that an admin dude whisks the posts away for a while while we decide what to do with them. Or, they could just post asking for the conversation to return to the original subject. This is likely to occur when the subject is a contentious one.

Please, please do not bring up that topic again. If it has been removed, or asked to stop, respect that decision. Any posts raising the dead in this was will be swiftly deleted. If you must carry on the discussion, use email or PMs.

...

7. Personal Arguments

Where is the best place to have a public spat? Anywhere but here. We are here to talk about books and whatnot. If someone upsets you, for whatever reason, either take it off the board or contact an admin. Don't post any more about it, or start an argument. It will only be deleted.
These are guidelines which - why not? - now have the effect of rules. Please do not breach them. Essentially, if you feel you have been slighted on the board:
  • do not rise to the bait
  • do not post insulting comments or return insults
  • contact an admin (Wavid, amner, Colyngbourne, me)
Please do not reopen old wounds or perpetuate contentious personal discussions. Even with jocular references, as this can cause fresh upset.

It's a new year and we want a clean slate to enable us to take Palimpsest forward to a borderline Orwellian (or do I mean Huxleyan?) Brave New World. New Year. New Palimpsest. Freedom is Slavery. Etc.

OK?*

Thanks everyone.

*rhetorical question

Name Xd out but these are wise words copied from elsewhere in the forum - could it be an item in the main notes here?
