How to do 'Spoilers' so that sensitive stuff is covered with a black bar that people can only read by dragging their mouse over it...

Simple. Put [HIDE]at the start of your spoiler text, then end it with[/ HIDE] - but without the space after the / (I had to do it that way otherwise this message would come out with a spoiler bar in it...)

Can someone please tell me how to rename a link that's been pasted into a reply.

So that instead of the link looking like:

http://urlgobbledegook

it looks like whatever I want to call it.

thanks

Yes, you do this by highlighting the text you want to make into a link, and then clicking the little button above the reply window which looks like a planet earth with a chain in front of it. This will bring up a little box and you enter the http://www.... in there.

A big thank you to Stewart, who has provided some CSS code for me to change the way spoilers appear. Instead of being ugly black boxes across the screen, they will now be more elegant white boxes with black outline like this. Much better!

Just noticed that on my work computer, a PC running Internet Explorer, the white spoiler bar doesn't have a black line around it. Not that that bothers me; just an observation.
