Default Palimpsest Book Group Rules

The rules:

1) You do not talk about Palimpsest's Book Group
2) You do not talk about Palimpsest's Book Group.
3) No smoking. Or dogs.

Only joking!

1) Books are chosen in 6 monthly batches, so everyone knows what is being read when. This will be done by consensus in a special topic.
2) Non members of the book group (even if they have registered with Palimpsest) can read, but not post. You have to join the Book Group specifically to do that.
3) The discussion of each book starts on the date shown on the schedule. If you haven't finished it by then, then don't look!

Happy reading!

I have updated this slightly to reflect the new way of doing things.

How do I subscribe to the book group?

Is there a rule that says I have to read every book? Apologies for my apparent ambivalence in this regard but I do run a real life book group and so I'd just like to join in with the discussions on this forum as and when I can.

Erm, I actually think that since we moved to the new board system, the Book Group has become a free for all, so you should be able to join in whenever and wherever you like.

Feel free to comment on the books you have read, and don't be obliged to read them all. I don't think anyone has managed that yet!

A free for all? That's my kind of discussion .... looking forward to it!

The Book Group rules should be modified (above) because, apparently, anyone can participate without being a formal member of the Book Group. Also, there is a mention of a schedule which cannot be found because, apparently, there is no Book Group.

Yes, quite true, SM. At one point it was useful to have a list of who was definitely willing to join in the bookgroup, but anyone was always welcome to contribute.
