Thumbs up Great Singles

What are our favourite singles of all time? You know, ones that do quite well in the charts despite being actually quite good. The songs where words like "perfect pop" are bandied around.

Like my first choice, which is You Get What You Give by the New Radicals.

I wonder how many of these will be one hit wonders?

Time Bomb, Rancid
Smells Like Teen Spirit, Nirvana

Ghost Town, The Specials

Not exactly one hit wonders, however.

And that would be my second - no, joint first - choice. I love it! We do it as a not-half-bad cover, and it's perfect for a wannabe-show-off guitarist, as it has two lead-breaks.

Not just the only song I like by them, however, much of their output stands the test of time in my view.
