Default First Lines: Babelfish style

OK, here are ten famous first lines of books run through Babelfish multiple times. Some are too easy but my internet connection is rubbish at the minute and I can't be bothered to do more. One I have 'Babelfished' by hand, not through the website. Two are by the same author.

1. During my recent years my father a certain advice gave only; he sees it upsets in my spirit, since

2. The cries found the sky

3. She is recognised truth general, which a particular department of man in possession a capacity must its will of a woman

4. They condemn me, around me to recall young people; a voice

5. How many choice girl dogs, give parent to me?

6. If the hero of mine its life wants, or if these send another person is stop, these must show the sides

7. This sadder history than they always heard

8. With question of will, if they have closed the door see

9. It was affection it differentiates between all of entrance

10. When the lines have reached company which then the higher surface of the hillock, I and the camp and correctly fully of return are the recommendation for me has considered by the grey fog of the early morning

As I said above, my connection is unreliable at work today so if I don't come back and confirm answers, sorry.

Red ones are answered (see below).
