That SF World forum is just not the same since Snowman and the other user left, just about the same time as a certain self-published children's writer turned musician's own forum discreetly vanished.

I love it when a man in feathers talks like this to me.

I had forgotten the "Critique my unintelligible opening to my three novel fantasy" threads over there. Thanks Nou. I'm off to pour scorn.

Hrithga poured his scorn onto the oaken tabletop. "This is poor scorn!" he quothed, "The Scorn brewed in my home in the far Northlands from whence I have but recently arrived in this decadent desert city seeking as I am treasure and adventure is far better. Bring me a dancing girl."

The stormy night was darker than any she'd known. Doreen held the PPK tightly in the classic cross breast grip. The perp was about to die...

- does this mean that the certain someone you mentioned used to be housed there as well, or what? I had vaguely high hopes when one of JunkMonkey's links revealed sff's existance to me, but they rapidly faded.

He used to have a subforum of his own there, which consisted almost exclusively of backslapping discussions between SW and his two biggest fans 'snowman' and 'dvdrom' - until someone on some self-hating pseudo-intellectual book forum emailed the mods to suggest they check the IP addresses of those three esteemed contributors, whereupon shortly afterwards the dedicated forum disappeared and snowman and dvdrom were banned. Weird.

And some of those "discussions" between 'snowman' and the other characters took place on Christmas Day morning.

Very sad...
