Will the gay marriages already in place be annulled, or allowed to stand?

Allowed to stand, according to State Attorney General Jerry Brown. Would be odd though, wouldn't it? I suspect civil partnerships or the like will come along soon, marriages in all but name, but that does smack of second-class citizenry in itself.

So, they're saying they can't get married, but they can be married?

Exactly. Except that it is all a big undermining thingy against heterosexuals who would be so put off marriage because two guys or girls down the road had the same kind of certificate.

Is there a neighbouring state where gay marriage is allowed? Oregon?

Don't forget that kids will be taught in school how to go about being gay.

There was a campaign Pro-Proposition 8 here that specifically targeted "kids being taught about being gay in schools" by being mean to the rather good children's book King and King.

Grim.

I think Massachessetts and Connecticut are the states where it's still legal.
