Quite an entertaining interview here about the new Pythonesque Broadway show.

I was lucky enough to see this last Saturday (the 30th) and I can't recommend it enough.

The writing and production are excellent, although my one complaint is that as the writing was very specific to Broadway, not everything has translated to the West End stage perfectly, but I can live with that.

Not only is Spamalot both a 'best of' Monty Python and a musical version of Holy Grail, but it is also a very good poke at some of the conventions of Musical Theatre. The Song that Goes Like This is where this works well, You'll Never Succeed on Broadway is less impressive.

Tim Curry made a wonderful King Arthur, and the rest of the cast are mighty fine too.

I particularly liked the panto-esque touch at the end, of having the words for Always Look on the Bright Side of Life going across one of the clouds for sing-a-long purposes.

Cool, gotta say i really fancy this low brow bit of belly laughter.

Have recently been given a box set of python and am loving it. Very funny seeing things on their sketches that were by-words of my childhood (having 3 older siblings) but only now realising where they originated!
