There must have been those silly spider things cos no one in their right mind is awake at 8:55 on a bank holiday Monday!

Actually I was in trying to get back into 'waking-up-for-work' hours again - failed miserably!

Actually yesterday there was a fifteen minute section when there were really about 55 human guests at the site (and they weren't 'spider' guests either). Then they all gradaully seeped away, and the spiders started acrruing in larger numbers towards the end of the day.

It's a credit to the new site that nothing crashed - ta, Wavid!

Here's an interesting one. Every time I fire up the Palimp, it displays for about a quarter of a second and then gives me the following message:

Quote:
Warning: main(./global.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hsphere/local/home/dwb27/palimpsest.org.uk/profile.php on line 121

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/hsphere/shared/apache/php/lib/php') in /hsphere/local/home/dwb27/palimpsest.org.uk/profile.php on line 121
If I'm really quick I can click on a link and carry on palimping as normal, but pretty often I'm needing to resort to a bit of high-speed 'backspace + link-clicking' action, and it's giving my otherwise fairly dextrous CAD-claw a bit of an ache.

...is there a genius who can help?

That happens to me sometimes. It comes and goes. Once you're in the forum, it's fine.

The front page centre is looking a bit dated. It's dated July 2003, for a start, but then continues with stuff that's long past like NaNoWriMo and February's book group.

There's a problem at the moment on my IE access, whereby when I bring up palimpsest, it drops into a bug connected with profile.php - specifically:

Warning: main(./global.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hsphere/local/home/dwb27/palimpsest.org.uk/profile.php on line 121

Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/hsphere/shared/apache/php/lib/php') in /hsphere/local/home/dwb27/palimpsest.org.uk/profile.php on line 121

i.e. The same as Daveybot, above.

My solution: I also have a copy of Firefox and I am not automatically logged in with Firefox. I find I CAN bring palimpsest up in Firefox and then log in, and everything is OK in Firefox.

I'm getting the same problem again after months of being free of it. My solution: hit the back button and quickly click on something. I think this must be a front-page problem of some kind?

This problem stopped for me for a while, but yes: it's definitely here again. I've been Doing exactly as Nottyimp for now, but you need some quick reactions, to be sure.
