1) What was the last book you bought for yourself?

'Girl Meets Boy' - Ali Smith. Yesterday, £4.99 in Waterstones sale, signed copy too.

2) What was the last book you bought for someone else?

'Roger's Profanisaurus - The Magna Farta'. For a colleague you understand. To keep in his desk at work. Obviously I won't be looking at the puerile tat myself.

3) What was the last book you borrowed from someone else?

'A Corpse in the Koryo' - James Church. A debut novel from a (reportedly) former intelligence agent, providing a fascinating insight into life in North Korea.

4) What was the last book you lent someone else?

Don Winslow - 'The Power of the Dog'. Put any genre prejudice to one side and give this one a go, it's a stunner.

5) Is there a book you would refuse to lend to someone?

There are people I wouldn't lend books to, but no books I wouldn't lend.

6) Have you ever been offended or appalled by a books someone has given/lent you?

My sister in law bought me a book called something like 'How to Crack The daVinci Code' a couple of Christmasses ago. I got her some ironing accessories the next year.

7) Have you ever offended or appalled someone else by the book you have provided them with?

Don't think so. But if the above mentioned colleague should leave my gift at his Granny's...

Nadine Gordimer, The Conservationist

2) What was the last book you bought for someone else?

[I]Douglad Coupland, JPod, for daughter

3) What was the last book you borrowed from someone else?

Mohammed Hanif, A Case of Exploding Mangos, to read for the Booker ll. I'm glad I borrowed it and didn't buy it because I hated it.

4) What was the last book you lent someone else?

Patrick McGrath, Dr. Haggard's Disease

5) Is there a book you would refuse to lend to someone?

Same as BiNS, there are people I wouldn't lend books to, but no books I wouldn't lend.

7) Have you ever offended or appalled someone else by the book you have provided them with?

Oh, probably Lolita

1) Last book I bought for myself was Bamboo by William Boyd at the unbelievable price of £3.99 in Borders reduced bin - fantastic.

2) Bought for someone else would be the Stephenie Meyer vampire series for my daughter. She loved them!

3) Last borrowed book was We Need To Talk about Kevin. Shame it was a bit tatty as I was about the 10th reader.

4) The last book I lent/gave was The Murder Room by PD James for a friend to read in hospital.

5) Most of my books I prefer not to lend out - sorry!

6) Have only been offended by condition not content.

7) I hope I have not offended anyone else.

Just bolted through all four of these this week, and will likely stick up a review in the next couple of days.
