I rather enjoyed it too. I took my 5-year-old to see it in the cinema and he liked it. As JM says, it's very faithful to the book and has a nice underlying message about tolerance. Recommended.

It's been years since I've seen it [Night of the Demon]. I must try and track it down on DVD. My one abiding memory of it is of staying up late one night to watch it on BBC2. I was in my early teens...

You bet. Night of the Demon is one of the few horror films that actually sends shivers down my spine. I also love Cat People but haven't seen I Walked With a Zombie.

Tomorrow's Guardian has a free copy of Battleship Potemkin on DVD. Never seen it myself, but it's widely regarded as a classic.
