A solid old school actor who had commercial and critical success in many roles including Blue Thunder, Marathon Man, The French Connection and most noteably Jaws.

RIP Chief Brody.

He must have been a good age. Jaws was 30 (?) years ago and he didn't look like he was a spring chicken in that.

Great actor though.

75 according to the report I read but I'd have thought he was a few years older than that. Perhaps he lied on his CV?

Aye, he'd had a good run. I forgot about his excellent performance in 2010 too (which I preferred to 2001).

Woah, isn't that Cinematic Sacrilege? Not that I've seen 2010; I mean from a received-wisdom point of view. What's it like then?

2010 is like the book of the film book of 2001 the book. If you see what I mean.

The Seven-Ups is a good cop movie Scheider made in the 70s. He was always good, and I'm pretty sad about his passing.

I don't remember 2010 very well, but isn't that the one with the line "My God...it's full of stars"?

It is. He was also in The Marathon Man - great film. And SeaQuest DSV... um...
